3rd Tartan Classic (English)

Tartan Classic 2027 – Registration Open!

The moment has arrived: we are proud to announce the 3rd edition of the Tartan Classic! There’s no denying it — the success and appreciation for the 2023 and 2025 editions have been overwhelming, so a third edition simply had to happen. In 2027 we will once again head to the challengingly beautiful Scotland, from:

WEDNESDAY 23 JUNE TO SUNDAY 27 JUNE 2027!

It will once again be a special Scottish experience, and this time we will head further north: among other things, we will explore the magnificent surroundings of Aberdeen and the Cairngorms, the eastern Highlands.

We will begin our journey with a pleasant ferry crossing to Newcastle; we board on Tuesday afternoon, 22 June, and during drinks and dinner the teams will get to know each other and set the tone for the days ahead. On this first evening, you will receive an extensive briefing on the map materials, and you can already plot several sections of the route for the first and following days.

After arriving in Newcastle, the route will take us over the next days to Kirknewton, Aberdeen, Aberdeen, and Edinburgh. The (beautiful) hotel locations have been secured, and work on the route is well underway. The route winds through the quintessential Scottish and English landscapes, past castles and manor houses, golf courses and whisky distilleries, and countless scenic spots, all entirely in the spirit of classic motoring.

Registration is open as of today for all interested participants, until the maximum of 65 teams has been reached. By now we know that this group size offers the ideal balance between social interaction and driving enjoyment.

The route is designed by Bart den Hartog, our very own “Belgian” Scot, in collaboration with Peter Rovers, and with support from the well‑known Scottish rally team Graham Watson and John Albiston. We use British navigation systems, which are not only fun and challenging but will also surprise you regularly. Enjoyment — and of course keeping an eye on the map — is what the Tartan Classic is all about. To help you prepare for working with these systems, we will organise an instruction day combined with a practice drive in spring 2027.

Last but not least: any technical issues with the car along the way will be resolved as much as possible with the technical ingenuity (and above all enthusiasm!) of BAS Auto Service from Lichtenvoorde.

So nothing should hold you back from registering — we look forward to receiving your entry!

Warm regards, Cees, Peter, Bart and Yolanda
